Presently, I'm working on a retweek of my "More than A Machine" drawing I did some years ago. The way it's been coming out has given me a couple ideas on how I can give Rockman some more love. After Capcom ditched the franchise, I've noticed that everyone's pretty much given up on a notion of anything related to the chap (Nintendo being the exemption. they deserve to have this property more than Capcom). Presently, Rockman is about 45% done. I'm a huge fan of fine details as some people know so yeah... I hope I can do these drawings before I lose my nerve and my inspiration.
What I'm inspired to do is show something of the inner workings of the heroes of Rockman, ie their mechanics and power drives. Rockman has always been noted as being solar powered in all the literature I've read. I want to take that to a new level of detail and depth. I like to take some notes from Gundam because of their theoretical nature and their well thought out ideas. Anyway... Up first, Protoman is a failed attempt at the solar furnace that has been hinted at in Gundam 00. Dr. Light attempted to use nuclear fusion to start a photonic reaction similar to reactions in the sun but his values were wrong (you have to take into account the topical effects from the reaction which he failed to do) thus creating a defect in his reactor core that continuously threatens everyone's safety. To make up for this issue, Dr Light created Rockman to use a solar generation system that harnesses energy from his satellite system, used to track his other creations. The solar energy, collected in space, is then transferred into Rockman's power core via a deuteron beam. Deuteron-based transmissions of energy are picked up in receivers built in his helmet and rooted accordingly to his systems as required. I considered doing Bass but right now I haven't read into his workings too much. I know his power is derived from a system similar to Zero's but Zero's systems are more refined. I, also, know that Dr Wily rebuilt Zero at one point due to his newest findings. Zero's power core is based off of the evil energy and power systems from an alien robot rescued from Dr Wily's Island in Rockman 8. A charged viral load is injected into a perpetual matrix that drives an anti-matter reaction. The negative energy reactor, as I call it, is a dual-celled mechanism that works off of the perpetual energy drive theory (the more it's used, the stronger the energy it produces, ie limitless potential). Rockman X, on the other hand, uses a true solar furnace. Using the alien robot, Duo, saved from Dr Wily's Island, Dr Light was able to fix the defects in his solar furnace design. Instead of using nuclear fusion to provide the catalyst, he uses a photonic chain reaction to drive his newest design. The photonic reactions create a perpetual energy drive that provides limitless potential for unlimited energy.
